Following someone else's instructions, I was able to get the card to
work on Fedora Core 2 by inserting this line at the top of
/etc/rc.sysinit:

insmod /lib/modules/2.6.5-1.358/kernel/drivers/net/3c59x.ko

It gives an error message on bootup, something to the effect of "file
exists", but the card works afterwards.
