everytime i download fedora, from any site it always shows up just as a large file and not as a file with folders or anything, like redhat linux 9 is. what am i doing wrong? the file itself is the right MB but theres no way to browse the cd when i down load the file, its just burned as a 650MB file that wont boot or anything.

It sounds like you are just writing the .iso file to a CD as a data file. You need to burn the .iso file as an "image." You don't say what burning program you are using. If you are using K3b, use Tools > CD > Burn CD Image. If you are doing it some other way, describe in detail how you are burning the CD and someone can suggest what may be wrong.
