To find out what is coming with the iptables RPM just run

rpm -qli iptables

To see whether a software is patched you will have to fetch the SRC.RPM
package and look inside it with i.e.

rpm -qpli iptables--1.2.9-1.0.i386.src.rpm

As far as I know only patching the kernel netfilter code with
Patch-O-Matic is not enough, but the additional modules have to be
supported by the iptables package too. So a closer look into the big
kernel-source package is not necessary.
