I'm sending this to you and to the list to make sure you see it: can you make sure any followups go to the list? Thanks. We really need to know a bit more about your setup. Some ADSL modems are internal or USB: Fedora looks after the ADSL side of things. Others ("ADSL routers") handle the ADSL authentication themselves, and connect to the Fedora computer through an Ethernet connection. Could you let us know the type, make, and model number of your modem? It might also be helpful if you could copy and paste the results of running these commands as root: ifconfig route traceroute 212.58.224.114 nslookup www.bbc.co.uk I appreciate that there's a "chicken and egg" situation here: you don't have a working Internet connection on that box. If you can mount a (formatted) floppy disk, you could run ifconfig > /mnt/floppy/ifconfig.txt to send the output to a file on the floppy. The exact text of the Web error message might be helpful, too.
