Thanks for that recommendation.

The only odd thing is, if you try to save an mp3 file, it asks you to
look for libmp3lame.so.0. It finds it for you, you select it, and no
more problems saving as mp3.
But even after that, if you try to IMPORT and mp3, it says it's not
compiled with mp3 support!
