I do think the shouting served a purpose, although maybe not so much of it was necessary. I've thought of just putting "README: Current Fedora Core..." but I...uh...didn't want to get yelled at ;)
Always better to get yelled at but know that you tried something useful. The README in caps sounds like a good idea, since those particular six letters already have a strong connotation within this community. The ***** Carroll suggested also might be an option.
