Only if you provide more information.

Do you have a Knoppix CD or any other bootable live CD? You need to post
the output of fdisk, thus your partition table.

Maybe you just partitioned your drive in a way that there is no bootable
primary partition. We can't know unless you provide more info.

I still don't know *what* problem you're talking about. Please do always
point people to some referring document or link when you open a new
thread.

There was a problem with newer distributions and the master boot sector.
You need to find out if that is *your* problem however.

The most important thing is a cool head. Don't panic and don't "panic
install" one OS over the other in order to solve your problem. You won't
succeed if you don't know what's the problem.
