LBA vs auto

Is there any downside with configuring the BIOS to use LBA rather than auto? 
Any advantages? I'm presently running FC1, and I'll probably install FC2 
soon. WinXP will _not_ happen here. My motherboard is an Asus A7V8X-X (VIA 
KT400 chipset).
