In addition to the info that others have already provide.... Concerning the difference in the number of installation CDs between various distros of Linux.... Note that with SuSe Linux, the "one CD" for installation can be a bit misleading. In fact, it is only the *first* CD and there is a total of about 7GB of data in the "current" directory on the SuSe site (and it's mirrors) for an actual full install to have to pull data from. The first CD just gets things going, the rest comes from an FTP repository, which is a royal pain if one doesn't have a fast connection. -- Dennis C.
