I try to update my system and it seems to be impossible using yum (I
have already sent some messages).

First attemp:
---->
[root@totoche root]# yum update
Gathering header information file(s) from server(s)
Server: ATrpms for Fedora Core 1 stable
Server: Fedora Core 1 - i386 - Base
Server: Dag RPM Repository for Fedora Core
Server: FreshRPM
Server: JPackage 1.5 for Fedora Core 1
Server: Livna.org Fedora Compatible Packages (stable)
retrygrab() failed for:
  http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/1/i386/yum/headers/header.info

.Package mplayer-mencoder needs libxvidcore.so.2, this is not
available.
<----

libxvidcore.so.2 belongs to xvidcore-0.9.2-0.lvn.1.1 which is in livna
repository!!!

Second attemp (for the fun, it occurs many times):
--->
[root@totoche root]# yum update
Gathering header information file(s) from server(s)
Server: ATrpms for Fedora Core 1 stable
Server: Fedora Core 1 - i386 - Base
Damaged or Bad header.info from Fedora Core 1 - i386 - Base
This is probably because of a downed server or an invalid header.info
on a repository.
<----

Tried two or three times more, changing repositories, then:

[root@totoche root]# rpm -e mplayer-mencoder

Next attempt:

--->
[root@totoche root]# yum update
Gathering header information file(s) from server(s)

Server: Dag RPM Repository for Fedora Core

Package php-domxml needs libxsltbreakpoint.so.1, this is not

Package xmms-mp3 needs xmms = 1.2.7, this is not available.
Package xmms-faad2 needs faad2 = 0:2.0-0.lvn.0.2.rc1.1, this is not
available.
Package xmms-alsa needs xmms = 1:1.2.8, this is not available.

Package xmms-normalize needs normalize = 0:0.7.6-0.lvn.7.1, this is
not available.
<----

most of these packages are available in the repositories I used....

So, I changed my yum.conf:

....
exclude=zinf* php-domxml xmms* mplayer*
.....

Last attempt (after many others with errors in headers, url not found,
whatever....):
--->
[root@totoche root]# yum update
Gathering header information file(s) from server(s)
Server: ATrpms for Fedora Core 1 stable
Server: Fedora Core 1 - i386 - Base
Server: Dag RPM Repository for Fedora Core

<----

I recall: mplayer is excluded in yum.conf, but yum doesn't care!

Any help?
