java is at:

/usr/java/j2re1.4.2_04/plugin/i386

with three sub-folders:

ns4 - ns610 - ns610-gcc32;

not sure which one to put the link to but i have only done this once
before and have forgotten what commands are needed to create the link

mozilladirectory/plugins: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 39 Jun 18 22:52 libflashplayer.so -> /usr/lib/flash-plugin/libflashplayer.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 67 Jun 18 22:53 libjavaplugin_oji.so -> /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_04/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so

You need the gcc32 version for FC2.

Hannes.

Hannes,

for what?! There is no need for gcc32 on FC2, not even for j2re. Though
there is "ns610-gcc32" in the path, there is no need for it. Did you
really install gcc32 RPM from FC1 on FC2 to get Java running? Me not :)

Alexander

Hi Alexander!

I meant the gcc32 version of the java plugin ;-)
When I installed java for moz I first linked the "normal" ns610 plugin and
mozilla won't start. I linked to the ns610-gcc32 and it worked...

Cheers,
Hannes
