I can do this one...........

If you are running FC1.......

cd /etc/xinetd.d/

you want to edit the file ipop3, so do.....

vi ipop3

the file looks like this:

service pop3
{
        socket_type             = stream
        wait                    = no
        user                    = root
        server                  = /usr/sbin/ipop3d
        log_on_success  +=
        log_on_failure  +=
        disable                 = no
}

change the disable to yes,

then do /etc/init.d/xinetd restart

that should do it
