Before mounting try '/sbin/modprobe ntfs' and see
whether that gives any errors.

this is the error from that command

FATAL: Module ntfs not found.

I changed fstab and when I boot the original kernel, it auto loads
"other" file systems and works great, I can see all my windows files.

Still won't work with the 8stacks kernel though

K. Need a favour. I see you use Mozilla as your mailer.
Could you please turn off the html mail and set it up
so that you reply at the bottom of a post? Thanks.

Lets try:

'/sbin/depmod -a && /sbin/modprobe ntfs'

and see what error messages we get.

this is what I got , I put the message on the bottom, but still used html, did it work OK?

FATAL: Error inserting ntfs (/lib/modules/2.6.5-1.358.8kstacks/kernel/fs/ntfs/ntfs.ko): Invalid module format
