I?m stuck, could you please help me out here? I'm no Fedora guru, but I was just thinking what I would do if I were in your shoes. I think I would start by getting a Knoppix CD (well, I actually have one so I wouldn't have to go far) and use it to look at the partition table with "fdisk /dev/hda". I'd actually create the partitions I wanted with fdisk if there is any sort of doubt about your partitions. Incidentally, if Knoppix ran on your machines, I would take that as pretty strong evidence that Fedora will run, sooner or later. The only other suggestion I would have is to install in text mode, though it doesn't sound as if your problem has anything to do with X. Well, one other possibility if you have a floppy drive would be to create a syslinux boot floppy, following the advice in /usr/share/doc/syslinux*/syslinux.doc . (You could do this under Knoppix.) -- Timothy Murphy e-mail (<80k only): tim /at/ birdsnest.maths.tcd.ie tel: +353-86-2336090, +353-1-2842366 s-mail: School of Mathematics, Trinity College, Dublin 2, Ireland
