Problem with Notebook Optical Mouse

I run Fedora Core 1 (with all updates) on a Toshiba Satellite Serie 5100 Laptop. Everything goes fine, except one thing (I won't qualify that thing!): I cannot use my USB optical mouse, a standard two buttons and one wheel usb mouse!

The Toshiba also use a Touchpad, which is working perfectly. The problem is that I cannot plug in my usb mouse and use it! The Touchpad is not as convenient as a mous to use!

How can I configure the mouse to run?
