Hey folks - I recently upgraded my laptop from FC1 -> FC2. During this process, I also moved back to XFree after some 8-9 years of using XiG (Accelerated X.) Upon doing so, I've noticed some horrendously ugly font Anti Aliasing due to RGB sub-pixel hinting. I've gone through both KDE and GNOME configuration tools and specifically disabled sub-pixel hinting. I've made sure the appropriate lines in /etc/fonts/local.conf are commented out. My ~/.fonts.conf is empty. None of these have helped in the least. The only way I can 'fix' it is to disable AA altogether, which makes the fonts look worse. Does anyone have any other ideas, suggestions, tips, etc, as to where I can look? I'm sure this is user-error, but I'm just not sure where to start looking. Thanks. jas -- Jason Van Patten AOL IM: Jason VP
