Subject: AMD64 Kernel 2.6.6-1.435 hangs
kudzu (/sbin/modprobe -q -r ohcil1394)
After AMD64 FC2 kernel 2.6.5, FC2 kernel
2.6.6-1.435 boot hangs because of firmwire controllers (ohcil1394). setting
/etc/sysconfig/kudzu SAFE=yes does not help.. as a workaround booted in
the interactive mode set kudzu to 'N' then continued with the boot. If you run
process kudzu it will hang. A 'ps -ax' shows the process '/sbin/modprobe -q -r
ohcil1394' running. You can not kill the process.
renamed two modules ieee1394.ko and
ohcil1394.ko and rebooted. I have no devices attached to the 1394
controllers.
'lspci' shows two firewire cards. eMachines T6000
