That SI chip makes BIOS supported software RAID and needs drivers under the OS to function. On the other hand a real hardware RAID adapter would be: "Adaptec AAR 2400, 2410 series — genuine hardware RAID, as with 3Ware." So use the software RAID function offered by Fedora Linux.
