hda3 extended partition containing the rest ...

hda4 is the 4th primary partition, so why is it inside the extended
partition? Should be a logical one.

Yes, and hda5 is before hda4.

If your system is running and you face no problems, then let it run. But
you say you have problem in Windows[tm] with the disk manager and that
the installation of FC2 fails. No, it is no geometry bug. You
partitioning is just awful. So if you want to go on and install Fedora
Core 2, then you certainly will have to save your data and repartition
the whole drive.
