hi, I tried to ping to yahoo, but it failed with error : unknown host yahoo.com. I think I didn't enable DNS. But when I restart "named", it doesn't report any thing. Any idea?

You don't need to start DNS unless you are running your own nameserver. You do need to have a functioning nameserver listed in /etc/resolv.conf, and a route to the internet.

Are you using a static IP? or DHCP to get your address? Does your ISP provide DNS for you?
