The machine is dual boot. XP on one disk. Fedora Core 1 completely up to date (via yum) on the other. XP sees my sound card fine and makes lovely music. Fedora never sees the card. (Neither does SUSE 9.1 Live.)
XP says the card is: Location PCI Slot 3 (PCI bus 2, device 9, function 0) I/O Range DC40- DC5F IRQ 18
My /etc/modules.conf file looks like: alias eth0 e100 alias usb-controller usb-uhci alias usb-controller1 ehci-hcd alias ieee1394-controller ohci1394 alias sound-slot-0 sb options sb irq=18
I added the "options" command -- just guessing....
I have not the faintest idea what to do. redhat-config-soundcard is one command that can not find the sound card. There is no man for that command.
