Help with 8-in-1 card reader

I've got a Belkin 8-in-1 card reader I'm trying to get working with FC1. I have an external USB disk drive and a USB digital camera working, so I think my usb-storage system is working. I made the max_scsi_luns mods to grub.conf and modules.conf recommended in the FedoraNEWS.org tip #44. I get a lot of messages in the message log, but none that suggest the system is seeing the SmartMedia card in the reader. Could someone offer some suggestions on what I'm doing wrong or offer suggestions on how I might figure out what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks! What I hope is pertinent information is included below.
