Hi, I've just upgraded from FC1 to FC2. After the upgrade on reboot I got prompted by kudzu to configure a new keyboard. I didn't think anything of it, but just selected 'yes' (or equivalent). However, now I am getting the following message every time my system reboots(and it's accompanied by a big red graphic, which makes me nervous ;-) : - - - BEGINNING OF JOE'S MESSAGE Error activating XKB configuration. Probably internal X server problem. X server version data: The X.Org Foundation 60700000 If you report this situation as a bug, please include: - The result of xprop -root | grep XKB - The result of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/xkb - - - END MESSAGE output from the commands is as follows: $ xprop -root | grep XKB _XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "xfree86", "pc105", "gb", "", "" _XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "xfree86", "pc105", "gb", "", "" $ gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/xkb layouts = [gb] model = pc105 overrideSettings = false options = [] Now, I am guessing that it accidentally detected something that wasn't there, and is now trying to use it. My questions are: 1) Am I correct? 2) Do I need to tell it that it's not there anymore? If so how? 3) What else can I do to solve this problem? Thanks for any help... Joe -- Joe Dauncey
