Cisco Aironet 342 and 352 cards work very well.
Just put it in the slot and either use System settings > Network , New,
Wireless connection in Gnome.
or iwconfig and ifconfig as per any other NIC. I did not need to
download/build/install anything!
Once youve done above (essentially setting the IP or telling it to use
DHCP), you can remove
and insert the card and the interface comes back up with no interaction.
If your in the UK, the 342s are very cheap on ebay at the mo :).
