So far these freezes seem to occur after the machine has been
sitting overnight (shorter terms of inactivity at the keyboard
don't do it). Oddly it seems that the freezes occur in a delayed
manner. That is when I come in the next morning I can initially
use the keyboard but after awhile the keyboard stops responding.
I never seem any particular error in the system logs. Also the
mouse always works so I can move windows and logout of the
current X session. The fact that logging out (with the resulting
restart of the X server) doesn't solve it leads me to believe
the problem is at the kernel level.
