I had the same problem and got the information that it could be caused by a wrong running process. in fact, it was the
same process as yours - mdmpd - it is a kind of process for having raid.
since i stopped that service ('/sbin/service mdmdp stop') and prevented it from starting again ('chkconfig --level
12345 mdmdp off') i have no long a problem.
