Found out by accident that Control-Shift-E6 (that's the "E" key followed by the "6" key followed by releasing Ctrl and Shift) actually gives me unicode E6, or æ. Neat feature. Unfortunately, my application (Eclipse) is expecting Control-Shift-E (and Control-Shift-F) to accelerate a menu option, and is not receiving it. Is there anyway to disable the Control-Shift-starts-unicode-entry feature, since I do not use it? Or somehow make the app over-ride? I noticed that gnome-terminal sometimes lets Control-Shift-C start a unicode entry, but captures Control-Shift-C for copy when something is selected by mouse (although it's hard to tell exactly what is going on, since the very act of selecting the text by mouse performs a copy). tia, Nigel.
