You have to use alsaconf in Core2 as it uses ALSA instead of OSS. Before that 
I had to upgrade the ALSA-packages as alsaconf seems to be missing in the 
core-distribution. I upgraded alsa-lib and alsa-utils from atrpms. After doing 
that my Sondblaster16 ISA worked.
