can MIDI play out of wine? AC97 card

I have Fedora Core 2, a notebook with a built-in AC97 intel xxx sound 
card and a music notation software which came from Windows (Noteworthy 
Composer). The fonts display well and I can type music and lyrics. But 
MIDI device cannot be found with wine.

Can I make wine play the MIDIs? My sound card seems to not have hardware 
MIDI ? How can software MIDI work with wine?

Windows 2000/XP do come with a soft synthesizer even for my sound card. 
How do I make the same with Fedora Core 2?
