No! The /1 label is important for the new FC2 install, while the FC1 root (/) partition is labeled just /. Do not change that, as it is correct now. > After booting back into FC1 on hda I checked the grub.conf and the line > was ... > > kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.22-1.2188.nptl ro root=LABEL=/ hdc=ide-scsi rhgb The hdc=ide-scsi is necessary on FC1 if you have a CD burning device as master on secondary IDE controller. Add it to the new grub.conf if you want to burn CDs on FC1. > Should I add in "hdc=ide-scsi" to the grub.conf I'm now using from hdb? > I presume that's the CDROM? It is not necessary for using a CD-ROM device, only for a burning device. On FC2 do not use ide-scsi. Now with kernel 2.6 it works different, see the release notes for this. > Dave Alexander -- Alexander Dalloz | Enger, Germany | GPG key 1024D/ED695653 1999-07-13 Fedora GNU/Linux Core 1 (Yarrow) on Athlon CPU kernel 2.4.22-1.2188.nptl Sirendipity 01:41:07 up 7 days, 23:25, load average: 0.13, 0.33, 0.40 [ ÎÎÏÎÎ Ï'ÎÏÏÎÎ - gnothi seauton ] my life is a planetarium - and you are the stars
