Could someone give me a quick explanation of the "DVD" iso that is with the Fedora Core 2 distribution. I thought it was perhaps the other four CD's but could be burned to one DVD. However, it appears to be only about 80 megs.
What you are seeing is clearly the DVD ISO file, compressed with some lossy algorithm. DVD's are meant to contain both video and audio, so it is probably the industry standard MPEG2 codec. Too bad it would violate software patents, and perhaps also the DMCA if if you were to attempt to play it on your Linux desktop.
You need to wait until the laws change, revolution... or Tuesday. Whichever comes first.
