There are still people running redhat 7.3 and as2.1 in production environments, hell my employer still runs openvms. some people what everything to be new and fresh and wonderful all of the time, some people want stuff to never change. I need more frequent feature releases than once a year or two years because otherwise the amount of patching/bashing and wholesale package replacement to bring our machines up to where we want them becomes rapidly onerous. In the end no distro's update frequency will satisfy everyone's needs or desires which is in part why there are so many of them out there to chose from. joelja > jay > > > -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Joel Jaeggli Unix Consulting joelja@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx GPG Key Fingerprint: 5C6E 0104 BAF0 40B0 5BD3 C38B F000 35AB B67F 56B2
