There are still people running redhat 7.3 and as2.1 in production environments, hell my employer still runs openvms. some people what everything to be new and fresh and wonderful all of the time, some people want stuff to never change. I need more frequent feature releases than once a year or two years because otherwise the amount of patching/bashing and wholesale package replacement to bring our machines up to where we want them becomes rapidly onerous.
