messages don't tell you that, and neither do the instructions
from nVidia.
I believe it far to assume that to compile a kernel module that the kernel
sources would need to be installed. Especially since the kernel uses it's own
set of headers.
Yes, it's fair. It's also generally mandatory to have the kernel source
configured (at least through the "make xconfig;make dep" stages), unless
you're certain UP/SMP or memory models aren't involved in the module.
