Hello list;
 I am considering the following two motherboards.
This will be "the one" for the next 4-years or untill 64bit CPU's are
affordable.
Both are available locally.

What would you choose??
Any experiences pro/con??

Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe or Gigabyte GA-7NNXP

They both use the nVidia nForce2 chipset, 400 FSB and have serial ATA.

Thanks
 Mick

Can't say anything about the Asus, but the Gigabyte should work well. I have been using the similar GA-7N400 Pro 2 for about 6 months with no problems. Since the Gigabyte does not use the nforce2 NIC, you should not need to load the closed-source Nvidia drivers. SATA is being used in PATA mode, so it's slower than ATA 100, but that is supposed to change soon.
