In my case, SUSE and Redhat was the only distros that supported my hardware "out-of-the-box" Fedora inherited the same device support of Redhat 9, so I chose FC1 over the others which were either commercial or didn't support my hardware. Solaris even failed to see my raid device, so my choice was pretty simple. I find it odd that people subscribe to fedora-list before installing fedora! jay
