The only thing I'd add is that if you can't find out what you need by switching virtual terminals (with <CTRL>+<ALT>+<F1>, etc.) try to do just a text install. Come back here with whatever errors you're getting, and someone should be able to help. Also, once you've used <CTRL>+<ALT>+<F1> to get out of X, you can drop the <CTRL> key and just use <ALT>+<F1> to <ALT>+<F6> to switch consoles. <F2> = shell <F3> = what's going on <F4> = errors should show up here, although no everything here is an error <F7> = this takes you back to GUI Good Luck!
