Thanks Clifford, But when I used the printer configuration utility and set the Queue type to "Raw" nothing would print, even from linux locally. I can live with changing only one or two lines each time I upgrade. Unless there's another way to get the octet-stream line uncommented when the mime.types file is auto-regenerated, I'll just do it manually.
