Sun JDK distribution issues

Hi!

Could someone explain why Fedora doesn't include Sun's JDK? I know that there are some issues concerning distribution (source and stuff) and I was looking for some details about this.

With all this brouhaha about Java possibly going GPL I was wondering about other ways of opening up Java so that all distro concerns are eliminated and without risking the fragmentation that so many developers fear about a GPLed Java (myself included, I value the "write-once, run anywhere" motto above all things).

thanks

Carlos
