I've installed Fedora Core 1 on a number of G2 and G3 servers.
Everything seems to work great.

I even got the hp management tools working. Don't install the NIC card
and SCSI drivers, just install the management rpms. You'll have to
modify /etc/redhat-release to be like RHEL3.0 for them to install
though.
