Try minimizing/maximizing (the middle of the three buttons in the
top-right corner). Also, you should be able to resize using one of the
top corners.
You can also right click on a blank spot on the taskbar, select
Properties, and check the box that says 'Show hide buttons'. This will
give you buttons at both ends of the taskbar, and you can click either
one to hide the taskbar.
