I suspect you have a SCSI controller in your system or other hardware that makes mkbootdisk to include SCSI drivers to the initial ramdisk image file (initrd.img). If you do not need the SCSI drivers for booting, like because it is only for a scanner, then omit the SCSI drivers building a new ramdisk image running mkinitrd. Alexander P.S. I remember I answered the same question some time ago here on the list. So the list's archive is always a good place to start searching help ;) -- Alexander Dalloz | Enger, Germany | GPG key 1024D/ED695653 1999-07-13 Fedora GNU/Linux Core 1 (Yarrow) on Athlon CPU kernel 2.4.22-1.2188.nptl Sirendipity 01:13:51 up 2 days, 2 users, load average: 0.76, 0.92, [ ÎÎÏÎÎ Ï'ÎÏÏÎÎ - gnothi seauton ] my life is a planetarium - and you are the stars
