We have already tried the lexmark 323 linux driver and the print quality is no different than the cups generic postscript driver. However, I have not tried printing envelopes, lables, using special fonts, etc.
This sounds like you are asking questions before you need an answer.
Please test the printer with all you need under cups, then if something does not work as needed ask about that.
