It would appear that on Apr 28, Steve Searle did say: > Around 06:18pm on Tuesday, April 27, 2004 (UK time), David Collantes > scrawled: > > > I believe the mailing list is mangling the S/MIME signed messages. > > Mutt shows signed mailing list messages correctly, and I believe some > other mail clinets do as well, so I doubt this. > > Steve Pardon. But I just asked for (and got) a couple of off list signed replies sent to me... and unlike the ones processed by the list, they were handled properly. I think that indicates that SOME mangling is occurring. Possibly some mail clients are more susceptible to it than others? I'm using pine. And like the guy with Evolution, it is ONLY when REPLYING to the signed (list resent) message that the problem occurs. They do display properly until the reply is started, where something prevents the attached text from making it to the composer. It is instead being included in the reply as attachments. This makes it difficult to trim the quoted text, and/or to view it while composing a reply. In my case I found a workaround that only requires some copy/paste and a little manual quote reformatting. And a quick deleting of the attachments from the reply headers. Which serves me right for bothering to reply to list messages with such digital signature files in them.<grin> I'm curious though, you said mutt displays them properly. Does that include durring a reply? -- | --- --- | Joe (theWordy) Philbrook <o> <o> | J(tWdy)P ^ | <<jtwdyp@xxxxxxxx>> /---\ "bla bla bla..." | \___/ "...and bla..." At least I know my mouth is running, I just can't find the off button!
