As I'm often pointing out to people, you don't actually get any of this
stuff with Windows either. Few people have actually installed XP from
scratch - when you buy a machine with it pre-installed, the vendor installs
all those plugins. You get much more with a Linux distribution that with
Windows. With the latter, the only software you get is a browser, simple
e-mail client, Notepad and a few card games. You can't even play DVDs
without paying extra!

One day, PCs will be shipped with Linux and will have all those plugins.
Until then, it's better not to get Fedora caught up in legal issues by
including proprietary software.

Incidentally, you do get PDF readers such as the one included with KDE. You
just don't get the official Adobe reader, which has a terrible interface
anyway.
