This could be a Atheros chipset based card. You could try installing madwifi
driver from http://dag.wieers.com/packages/kernel-module-madwifi/

Since there is no appropriate module built for the latest 2188 kernel, you might
want to grab the .src.rpm - and build it for your kernl.
