sorry for not been clear about networking between Fedora and Mac.
basically i would like to share files between them. is this possible?
Yes, it's possible. There are several ways to do this depending on how you want to share the files. Samba, NFS or FTP will all work with OSX. I'd recommend an up-to-date OSX (Panther) for Samba, earlier versions had odd or inconvenient Samba behavior.
