help installing fedora 64 (will not install graphics)

Hello,

I have an AMD64 system and I would like to install the 64 bit version of fedora on it. I currently have core 1 installed on the system and that install went without a problem. My first question is can one upgrade from the 32 bit version to 64 bit version. I started to do this and got a message that this might not work.

I then tried to do a fresh install but the install could not find my video card or monitor (it then claimed it was doing a ?headless install?).  Now when I boot up it goes to terminal mode and not graphics mode and I can not figure out how to switch it to graphics mode (gnome or KDE). I am not sure all the files for this mode were installed?

Is there a way to redo the install so it will automatically install and boot to one of the graphic modes?

I am just learning Linux and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Bryan

P.S. video card is Geforce mx40000 and monitor is an elements.
