they DID, but i don't know if they DO offer refunds anymore.  there was a big hub-bub about lindows offering some deal if people sent them their copies of windows (dunno if it had to be sealed) so they could get the refund for the software, but then they got into trouble.  i'm sure if you searched slashdot.org you'd find more details.

Time will end all my troubles, but I don't always approve of Time's methods.
