OK,  I got connected after running vncserver.  I would like to see the
entire gnome desktop though.  Can this be done?

Based upon the thread, I think I have o start a session form the console
with a session number other than 0.

Should work.  Giving the VNC 4 beta might be worth a shot, though.

Have you verified that your VNC is listening on port 5900 (are you using
the vnc.so also)?
