Subject: Xcdroast says my ATAPI CD ROM should be simulated SCSI
I just installed a new CD/DVD +-CD ROM drive. When I tried to setup
xcdroast it complained that I would get better performance if I were
running the device in simulated SCSI mode. I tried searching this list
and could not find how to change it. My system has 2 IDE drives on the
primary controller and the CD/DVD is on the second controller all by
itself.
In your grub.conf file.. append hdc=ide-scsi
eg
title Fedora Core (2.4.22-awr1)
root (hd0,9)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.22-awr1 ro root=LABEL=/12
hdc=ide-scsi rhgb
initrd /boot/initrd-2.4.22-awr1.img
I thought ide-scsi was deprecated in FC2?
